The 17-year-old boy was stabbed on Jameson Street, in Whitmore Reans, around 2.10am on Saturday 3 February.

He was rushed to hospital in a serious condition and is rehabilitating from his injuries at home.

Now, after weeks of investigation, detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in relation to the stabbing.

Police say he 'may know' about the attack.

Detective sergeant Chris Jones, from Force CID, said: "We want to hear from anyone who recognises this man or has information about this attack. We believe that the victim may also have had his mobile phone stolen.

"I’d urge anyone who knows anything to get in touch with me or a member of my team."

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting log 237 of 3 February or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
