Family pay tribute as A41 crash victim named as Wolverhampton man

A man who died after being hit by a Land Rover in Wolverhampton has been named.

Paul Mazs, 54 and from Wolverhampton, died after being struck by a 4x4 on Tettenhall Road just before 10.30pm on Sunday.

Police officers and an off-duty ambulance crew performed CPR on Mr Mazs but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened at the road's junction with Crowther Road outside The Newbridge pub.

In a tribute released through police today, Mr Mazs' family said he "will be missed by all his family", adding that they will "love and miss you always".

The A41 Tettenhall Road was closed for a number of hours as collision investigators examined the scene.

The driver of the Land Rover Freelander is helping police with enquiries, West Midlands Police said.

Sgt Alan Hands, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We continue to examine the circumstances and would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision near to the junction with Newhampton Road West.”
