Yesterday’s Golf Day was in aid of Promise Dreams, which helps terminally-ill children and their families achieve a dream, which could be anything from a special holiday to meeting a favourite celebrity.

It is hoped that the day will raise thousands of pounds for the good cause.

Around 80 people took part in the event at South Staffordshire Golf Club in Wolverhampton, including former Wolves manager Dave Jones and ex-Wolves player Don Goodman.

Bully, who is a Promise Dreams patron, urged people to get involved in raising money for charity.

He said: “It is absolutely brilliant, there are lots of people sponsoring so fingers crossed we can raise quite a bit of money.

“I don’t know how much we are going to raise, I would like to say £50,000 but that isn’t going to happen.

“If we raised anything it’s something and I would be happy,

“The weather is with us today, there are 20 teams so about 80 people and they seem to be enjoying themselves and giving back at the same time, plus more will be coming for the evening.

“I love knowing we’re raising money for this charity.

“I always say there is no good waiting until it affects your family when you can already start raising money now.”

The day was organised by Steve Bull Events, which has been running the fundraiser for 12 years.

The day of golf was followed by a presentation, a three-course meal and entertainment at the Mount Hotel.

There was also a charity auction and raffle.
