Grease is the word at Wolverhampton school
Go Greased Lightnin' at Highfields school with an 'exuberant' musical performance by talented students.
The show, put on by pupils aged 11 to 16 - with help from neighbouring special school Penn Fields - will be staged tonight and tomorrow at 7.30pm.
This year's production is especially exciting, staff have said, as the last time the school acted out popular musical Grease, the lead female part was played by soul superstar - and ex-pupil - Beverley Knight.
And teachers at the Wolverhampton school have high hopes for 2018's Danny and Sandy stars; Year 11 pupils Alice Ryal, Emily Longman, James Lees and Joseph Bloomer.
Head of performance Sharon Bishop said: "Everyone has worked so hard. The performance is exuberant and a huge part of the school year.
"It really represents the school at its best."
The first night of Grease enjoyed a full-house for its opening night on Wednesday, and nearly all seats have been sold for future performances tonight and Saturday.
Ms Bishop added: "The opening night was so well-received. We're really looking forward to the rest of the shows."
The story of Grease, made famous by the 1978 film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, sees wholesome exchange student Sandy Ollsen and leather-clad Danny Zuko have a summer romance.
More than 80 students are involved in the making of the show, which includes a live band each night.
