Royston Blythe and Nick Malenko marked 11 years as civil partners back in March – with the ceremony filmed as part of The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

When the couple, who run the Royston Blythe salon in Compton, signed their partnership back in 2006 they were surrounded by friends and well-wishers including TV stars Lorraine Chase and Penny Smith.

Mr Blythe turned 60 in March and so the ceremony also helped to mark his big birthday.

The pair are best friends with Dawn Ward – wife of former Manchester City striker Ashley Ward – and the renewal ceremony was held at her glitzy home Warford Hall.

Mr Malenko, 57, said: "It was also a celebration of Royston's 60th and how long we've been together – in total it's been 32 years.

"The first ceremony was great, really fabulous. This one was a really fun day and fabulous from start to finish – there was a great atmosphere.

"The people there were all the housewives [from the reality show] and our friends who have been there for 32 years.

"All the staff from the salon were there as well – it was a brilliant day.

"Also we've been friends with Dawn for 10 years so it was an ideal place to do it."

Mr Malenko added: "The thing about me and Royston is our lives are so diverse.

"On a Thursday night a couple of years ago I was down at Elton John's house talking with Shirley Bassey – then the next day I was at the local chippy.

"We've met some fabulous people and done some amazing things – stuff we never thought was possible for two guys for Wolverhampton."

*The show airs on Monday at 10pm on ITVBe.
