Travellers set up camp on Morrisons car park

Travellers have pulled onto the Morrisons supermarket car park in Bilston.

The travellers can be seen occupying various spots on the car park.

Four caravans arrived on the store car park off the Black Country Route.

The vehicles are located in various spots around the site.

It is expected that they will be moved on from the car park Wednesday morning.

Wolverhampton Council tweeted about the situation on Tuesday morning, saying: "We are aware of the unauthorised encampment at Morrisons car park in Bilston.

"Our Public Protection officers have inspected the site this morning and the bailiffs have served the notice requiring the occupants to leave by 9am tomorrow [Wednesday] morning."

This came after the council announced a new traveller ban across the city at the start of this month.

The local authority was granted an injunction that will allow them to move travellers on quickly from 60 parks and green spaces across the city for the next three years.

The move would save taxpayers' money from being spent on court proceedings and clean-up operations.
