Wolverhampton Young Citizen Award postponed but still seeking nominations during coronavirus crisis
This year's Wolverhampton Young Citizen Award has been delayed due to the coronavirus crisis.
But organisers say they are continuing to accept nominations for the award, which recognises the efforts of young people in the city who go that extra mile to help others.
The awards ceremony, which was scheduled for July, has been postponed and will now take place at a later date.
Young Citizen chairman Roger Timbrell, from Tettenhall Rotary Club, said: "During this extraordinary time we decided that it was impossible to proceed with the award in its usual form.

"However, we are already seeing evidence of extraordinary acts of kindness taking place from young people who are going that extra mile to help their communities during the crisis.
"With that in mind, we have decided to continue taking online nominations so that those good deeds can be recognised at an appropriate time.
"So if you know anyone who deserves to be recognised for their volunteering or for helping others, please nominate them."
The nominee needs to live, go to school or work within the Wolverhampton city boundary and be between the ages of 13 and 19.
