The resumed inquest heard that Kalwinder Singh Mangat, known as Kully, died in hospital five days after the incident outside the Old Still Inn, in King Street, on January 19 last year.

Black Country Area Coroner Mrs Joanne Lees told the hearing that the 50-year-old Wolves fan had been involved in an altercation during which he was pushed, resulting in him falling to the ground and hitting his head.

Mrs Lees said: "He died on January 24, 2019. On January 19 he had been to a football match. After that he had been out in the town and in particular at the Old Still pub."

Kalwinder Singh Mangat was a dedicated Wolves fan

She said there was an altercation during which he fell and hit his head.

She added: "Paramedics attended and he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he subsequently sadly passed away. Can I first offer my condolences to you the family."

She added: "I'm aware that there was a police investigation and I'm aware that there was a decision made by the Crown Prosecution Service not to lay any charges against a named individual."

She adjourned the inquest until May when it will be held with a jury.

Mr Mangat, of Renton Road, Oxley, Wolverhampton, was survived by his wife of 28 years Harjinder.

She was at the hearing with children Josh and Shannon.

Family and friends came together to remember Mr Mangat by holding a charity football match and fun day in July.
