£4,410 was raised as part of a five-mile walk in aid of Elle's Angels charity in October. The charity offered to pay for physio for two-year-old Hunter Burns who has cerebral palsy and now the family have raised the money to show their thanks for the support.

More than 70 people gathered in fancy dress for a five-mile walk for Hunter Burns and the charity Elle's Angels, which offers support to families and helps pay for alternative and conventional therapies.

The charity walk raised £4,410 in total for the charity and Hunter's family and friends presented the cheque to Elle's Angels at an event Tettenhall College.

Hunter, whose condition affects his ability to walk and stand up straight, needs neurological support which costs thousands of pounds.

The charity has stepped up to pay for six months’ worth of treatment, as it is not funded by the NHS, so his family wanted to do something to give back to them.

Sam Matthews, Hunter’s aunt, said: "Hunter is coming on great and the treatment is working amazingly, he is starting to be able to do things we take for granted, like just moving his right hand.

“We have been overwhelmed by the support we have got, our initial target was £1,500 so we have managed to raise well above that and we want to keep on going.

"It is such a positive and rewarding feeling to be able to give back to the charity and help other children like Hunter with cerebral palsy, it's so rewarding.

"We also wanted to raise awareness of what Elle's Angels do as a charity as they deserve so much support."

Elle’s Angels offers support to families and helps pay for alternative and conventional therapies.

It was set up by the family and friends of former Wolverhampton Girls’ High School pupil Elle-Mae Davidson from Kingswinford, who is recovering after collapsing suddenly of a brain haemorrhage in 2013.

Sam added: "I would urge anyone who wants to donate to charity to consider Elle's Angels, it is such a good cause for local families and children it could be your next door neighbour who needs help and this charity is helping people across the Midlands get the therapy they need."

Following the success of this year's fundraiser, Hunter's family are planning on organising another charity walk next year in aid of the charity.
