Part of a metal railing nearby had also been dented near a Kwik-Fit garage.

Traffic was queuing on the main ring road as police diverted motorists away from the crash scene.

West Midlands Police said officers had been called to assist at the scene.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 6.56am to reports of a car on its roof.

"We sent one ambulance and one patient - a man who had managed to get himself out of the vehicle - was treated for minor injuries and discharged at the scene."

The road was reopened shortly after 8.30am.
