Roadworks will begin on Lower Horsley Fields and Willenhall Road between Minerva Lane and Hickman Avenue to reinforce a gas main.

The project will run seven days a week, 24 hours a day and will last a couple of weeks, Wolverhampton Council has said.

Throughout the works, temporary traffic signals and lane restrictions will be in place to enable them to be carried out safely. Some side roads may be affected by temporary closures as the scheme progresses throughout the summer.

A spokesman for the council said: "We will keep you up to date with the progress and reopening of the roads as the scheme comes to an end.

"Thank you for your patience while these vital improvement works are carried out."

Horsley Fields and Willenhall Road is one of the busiest routes during rush hour for commuters driving in from Walsall, Willenhall and Birmingham.

Drivers are warned they might experience some delays while the project is carried out – and are urged to adjust their journeys accordingly.
