Ross Kemp followed officers on the job as part of a new TV show.

The TV hardman and former EastEnders actor, who has since gone on to forge a successful presenting career, posed for a picture with West Midlands Police officers after joining them on their patrols.

The force's Wolverhampton and Walsall Response account tweeted: "Ross Kemp and the production team were filming us doing our jobs.

"We should say thank you to them for taking the time to talk to the public who recognised Ross.

"No one was pushed away or told no to a selfie. What a genuinely decent celebrity."

Kemp was also spotted popping into McDonald's restaurants at Bentley Bridge, Wolverhampton, and in Stourbridge.

Tom Shaw, a manager at the Stourbridge branch, said: "He was doing interviews with West Midlands Police. He's shooting something round here.

"He came in and grabbed a latte."
