Radio Wulfrun, at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton, welcomed the pair on a visit to the studios earlier this month.

They replace Baroness Rachael Heyhoe Flint, who died in January.

The radio station has been operating for 34 years and currently has 12 members. They stretch in age to presenter Eric Cull, aged 98.

Chairman Richard Stanton said: "Because our previous patron was Rachael, who had been with us for around five years, we wanted to find someone who was another proud Wulfrunian.

"And in Hugh and Anita I think we have found the right people."

He added: "A patrons job is to be the public face of the station and help promote the organisation."

Both studios at the station are currently being refurbished while work is happening behind the scenes to set up a fundraising concert in February.

Anyone wanting to join the station should call 01902 695099 or visit www.radiowulfrun.co.uk
