Police probe after man found dead at Willenhall flat

An investigation has been launched after a man was found dead at a flat in Willenhall.

Emergency services arrived at the home, in Bloxwich Road South, at around 12.30pm today after a member of the public raised the alarm.

They discovered the man, thought to be aged in their 30s, dead in the property.

He has yet to be identified and detectives said they were currently treating his death as unexplained.

Forensic investigators were examining the scene as officers launched house-to-house inquiries to see if anyone saw anything suspicious.

Detective Inspector Paul Joyce, from West Midlands Police's Homicide Unit, said: “We are in the very early stages of our inquiry and we are trying to understand the circumstances around this man’s death.

“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, but in the meantime, I would ask anyone with information which could assist us to call my team on 101.”
