Queslett Road, between Pheasey and Streetly, was closed following the collision.

The crash happened at around 3.50pm yesterday near the Deer's Leap pub.

A 12-year-old boy has been taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries, say West Midlands Police.

He was in a stable condition in hospital on Friday with his injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

A force spokeswoman said the driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and is assisting with inquiries.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area in the aftermath of the collision.
