Cars destroyed in Darlaston arson attack - with PICTURES

Cars were destroyed in a suspected arson attack at a vehicle repair centre in the Black Country.

Charred remains of cars and blackened walls were all that was left after 25 firefighters tackled the blaze.

They were called to the scene in Wolverhampton Street, Darlaston at around 1.45am today to a fire involving a car which spread to the vehicle repair shop.

Crews were at the scene for several hours.

West Midlands Fire Service said the fire was believed to be arson.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said: “We had five engines at the scene and crews were from Wednesbury, Willenhall, Tipton, West Bromwich, and Wednesbury.

“It involved a severe fire in a single-storey vehicle repair workshop.

“Police along with gas and electric were in attendance. It is believed to have been started deliberately.”
