Firefighters rescue man from Walsall flat

Firefighters rescued a man from a fire at a Walsall flat and administered oxygen.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene in Lanton Close, Bloxwich, just after 6am on Saturday after a pan on the stove caught fire.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "At 5.49am the call was received after being made by somebody outside the flat.

"A man was rescued by the fire service and oxygen was administered and he was handed over to paramedics at 6.07am."
