Two men, aged 21 and 27, handed themselves into the police this morning and have been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving.

They both remain in police custody.

Dozens of police officers were at the scene yesterday, as police began their investigation.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said at the time: “Crews arrived to discover the pedestrian, a woman, with multiple serious injuries.

“Ambulance staff administered specialist trauma care but sadly it became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”

The entire length of both Gurney and Cavendish roads, which are predominantly residential, remained cordoned into Thursday evening as specialist police collision investigators examined the area.
