Two injured after car crashes into bus stop in Walsall

Two people have been injured after a car crashed into a bus stop in Walsall.

Emergency services were called to Birmingham Road, near to the Blue Coat Academy, this morning.

The crash happened at around 8.30am and left a pedestrian with minor injuries.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called just after 8.30am to reports of an RTC involving a car and a bus stop.

"One ambulance and one paramedic officer attended the scene.

"Two patients, the driver of the car and a pedestrian, who was at the bus stop, were treated at the scene.

"The driver was discharged at the scene while the pedestrian was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital with minor injuries."

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to Birmingham Road, Walsall to reports of a car crashing into a bus shelter at 8.40am this morning."
