Police in Stafford are warning parents after youths were reported to have caused vandalism to vacant sites

Stafford Police said they received the reports on Saturday – with the old rugby club site at Castlefields being one of the premises being targeted.

Four male youths were seen on bikes causing the damage where a tap was ripped from the wall causing the building to flood – which officers say could have had serious consequences due to live electrics in the premises.

The other location where vandalism was reported has not been identified by police.

A spokesman for Stafford Police said: "Yesterday [Saturday] we had reports of vandalism at two separate locations in Stafford. Both are vacant premises.

"One of these was the old rugby club site at Castlefields. Four male youths on bikes were seen causing this damage.

"The site still has live electrics and a tap was ripped from the wall causing the building to flood. Obviously this could have had serious consequences.

"So please parents of Stafford if your teenagers are out and about, ensure you know where they are and that they are safe."

Anyone with information can call Staffordshire Police on 101.
