The blaze erupted at a semi-detached home on Billy Buns Lane just before 9am yesterday.

Fire Engines from Wolverhampton and Dudley stations, alongside their Staffordshire Fire Service colleagues from Codsall, Kinver and Brewood, were on hand to tackle the fire

When crews and paramedics arrived, a man and a woman had escaped and were stood outside, and they were uninjured.

The road was closed for several hours as firefighters dampened down the area and investigators looked to determine the cause of the fire.

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Fire Service has now said: "It appears that the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault."

Much of the roof to the home was destroyed in the fire and officers were able to contain the damage to the loft and bathroom.
