Road closed and biker seriously injured after Staffordshire crash

A motorcyclist has been left seriously injured after a crash with a car, which left a road closed.

The junction of Hednesford Road and Slitting Mill Road

The A460 Main Road is closed in both directions at the junction with Slitting Mill Road after the crash which happened at 3.52pm.

One ambulance, a paramedic officer and two air ambulances from Cosford and Staffordshire are in attendance.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "There was a major crash involving a car and a motorbike along the A460 Main Road. It is closed in both directions and there is one ambulance, one paramedic officer and two air ambulances. One of them is from Cosford while the other is from Staffordshire. There is on patient at the moment."

Staffordshire Police posted onto Twitter: 'We're currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A460 Main Road, between Hednesford and Rugeley. The road is currently closed in both directions from the junction with Slitting Mill Road. Please avoid the area and take alternative route. Updates to follow..'
