Plans for extra homes at Eccleshall development set to be approved

Plans to add 10 extra homes to a development in Stafford are set to be approved - despite councillors asking for developers to provide a "less dense" proposal.

Bovis Homes previously secured planning permission for 130 homes on the Stafford Road site in Eccleshall in 2014.

Two years later Stafford Borough Council gave consent for more homes to be added – and now the building firm is seeking permission for a further 10 extra plots.

But Eccleshall councillor Peter Jones called in the application for discussion by Stafford Borough Council’s planning committee earlier this month because of “concerns that the physical infrastructure of the site with additional homes to the original plan will prove inadequate and over-massing of the site”.

Now officers have recommended councillors approve the plans when they go before the committee next week, as the applicant provided a statement which address points raised by the committee.
