The collection of 14 weapons was given to Staffordshire Police by a member of the public after the publicised knife crime in the area.

They were handed in instead of being sold to stop them getting "into the wrong hands", police said.

Cannock Police tweeted saying: "A member of the public has handed in 14 samuari swords due to the ongoing publicised knife crime. They did not want to sell them just in case they got into the wrong hands.#Responsible#OpSceptre"
