Police appeal after man injured in Cannock crash

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was knocked down by a car in Staffordshire.

A 33-year-old man, a pedestrian, was hit by a white Citroën at around 7pm on the A5190 Lichfield Road in Cannock.

The incident happened nearby to the McDonald's where the driver of the car stopped to assist the pedestrian, but did not offer contact details or report the matter to the police.

Staffordshire Police have said that the car is possibly a C2 model and are now appealing for the driver to come forward.

He is described as white and around 40-years-old.

Police are also appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.

The victim is currently undergoing treatment for a back injury at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
