The Museum of Cannock Chase will be taking visitors from the Stone Age to the present day at its event on Saturday from 12noon to 4pm.

Lisa Kemp, visitor services assistant, said: "It's a nation-wide event and different organisations take part in it.

"Ours is themed around time travel, we're going to go from the Stone Age to now and look at how techniques have changed.

"It's being run by the Young Archaeologists Club, who are people from the age of eight onwards who are interested in archaeology and history.

"It's a free event and there will be different things people can take part in.

"We've got demonstrations on foraging things to use for dyeing, natural wool felting and spindle works.

"Wessex Archaeology will be bringing things in that have been found from our area too and there will be cave art.

"Archaeologist Shane Kelleher will be giving a talk, and everything is very interactive, there will be something to do for everyone.

"There will also be an archaeology-themed quiz."
