A woman has died after a collision involving a pedestrian and a car in Kings Bromley.

Staffordshire Police were called to Kings Bromley at 7.45pm on Thursday, following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a van on Yoxall Road (A515), at the junction with Church Lane.

Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead by paramedics a short time later and the woman's next of kin are being supported by specially-trained officers at this time.

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Police said: "It is believed the collision happened between 7.30pm and 7.40pm.

"The van, believed to be white, travelling from the direction of Yoxall towards Kings Bromley, left the scene.

"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the van before or after the collision.

"Any witnesses or anyone with any information, or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or smart doorbell footage, is asked to contact us on Facebook, Twitter, or call 101, quoting incident number 606 of 19 October 2023."

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent one ambulance, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car, and a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic to the scene.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “Crews arrived to discover one patient, a woman, in a critical condition.

“Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”
