Bank takes up baton for charity
Bank staff have taken up the baton for a good cause raising money for the Sycamore Adventure Centre in Dudley.
HSBC branches have been taking part in the fundraising for the centre, which caters for those aged 0-18. It offers weekly play sessions, which are free of charge for many taking part. Many of the children have never left Dudley and the centre is a mini holiday for them.
Emma Lander, retail branch manager at Halesowen, said: "We aim to raise enough money to buy sensory equipment and then we will volunteer our time to decorate and make the room ready for local children.
"All area’s in the Central area have had a section of a HSBC hexagon to pass between the branches using any apparatus they saw fit some walked, ran, biked,covering hundreds of of miles to raise money and awareness for each area’s charity ours being Sycamore.
"We have all had so much fun helping a really worthwhile charity we will continue this partnership with Sycamore joining them on other events planned this year."
The money could also go towards an accessible swing for those with wheelchairs.
Among the fundraisers was a walk from Wolverhampton to the Sycamore Centre in Dudley with some staff dressed as caped crusaders Batman and Robin.
