Anchor Estates director Sophie Bullock said she was confident the non-league club would be sold based on the early interest.

The club, which are based at Keys Park, was put up for sale by chairman Steve Price two weeks ago.

Today, Ms Bullock revealed there had been six enquiries made following the listing, with talks currently taking place with three of them.

The agent runs tests on potential buyers before entering advanced discussions which include the cost.

Ms Bullock said: "We've had quite a lot of interest from a range of people – none of them are from abroad and a couple of them are local.

"Based on the early interest, we are confident of a sale."

The club stadium is on 5.5 acres of land and has a capacity of 6,000 with 1,000 seated. There is also a clubhouse and function rooms.

Mr Price has been chairman of the club for 24 years. On announcing the sale, he said: "I feel that the time is now right for me to try and sell the club on to someone else in order to take it forward in the coming years."

"Ideally, we’d all like one individual to come in and take the club forward, but we’re open to hearing from all other avenues as well."

The club plays in the Evo-Stick Northern Premier League, which is three tiers below the Football League.
