Stephenson, who won The X Factor in 2017 with four-piece band Rak-Su, is in the Australian jungle for the 2019 edition of ITV reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.

But the other three members of the band - Ashley Fongho, Jamaal Shurland, and Mustafa Rahimtulla - will still be turning on the light and performing on November 30.

The group were the first male group to win The X Factor.

West Bromwich Town BID tweeted saying: "Christmas light switch on.

"As you are all most likely aware Myles from Rak-Su has joined the jungle.

"This unfortunately means that he will not be attending our light switch on this month but the rest of the group will still be here in full spirits.

"Good luck Myles."

The event will take place from 4.30pm to 7pm at the top end of the High Street.

Lisa Hill, operations manager for West Bromwich Town BID, said: "Free Radio will be there, there will be performances from Sandwell College, dance school Dance Qube, local band A Wounded Spirit and then the other three Rak-Su members.

"They will turn the lights on at 6.30pm and then perform for half an hour afterwards.

"This is the fifth year we've organised it and each year we have between 1,000 and 1,800 people in the centre.

"There will also be face painting and characters for the kids to have selfies with.

"People can bring the kids, have some fun, watch the entertainment and support the town.

"It's always a well attended event, the BID's biggest event of the year."
