A man in his 30s, who was a pedestrian walking along Trinity Road, was struck by a silver Renault Clio at around 1.40pm yesterday.

The victim was treated by paramedics for serious injuries but died at the scene.

Now, flowers have been attached to the railings near where he died.

A message on one named the victim as 'Richard'.

It read: “Richard, so sad, in our thoughts, Wayne and Jade.”

A 24-year-old man was arrested by police following the crash on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

The Clio was seized for forensic analysis and Trinity Way was closed for the majority of yesterday afternoon and evening.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch as part of the ongoing inquiry.
