Detectives have released a CCTV image in a bid to identify a man who died after being struck by a tram.

Officers still do not know who the man was who died on the tram line between Trinity Way and West Bromwich Central two weeks ago.

The incident happened between 4.30am and 4.52am on June 2.

Paramedics attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police, who do not believe the man's death was suspicious, have not been able to identify the victim.

Investigating officer DC Simon Taylor said: “This was a tragic incident and we are working very hard to identify this man so we can offer his family support and let them know what has happened.

"If you know who this man may be then I would urge you to contact us as soon as possible.

“Since June 2 we have thoroughly examined the circumstances which led to his death. We are confident that there is nothing to say this death is suspicious.”

Anyone who recognises him has been urged to contact British Transport Police by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 390 of 11/06/2018.
