Biker who died after Tipton crash 'was not wearing helmet'

A motorbike rider from Bilston died in a crash in which he was not wearing a helmet, an inquest heard.

Joshua Doughty, aged 26 and of Glyn Avenue, died on March 24 in Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

The inquest at Black Country Coroners Court heard Mr Doughty was riding his motorbike, with a pillion passenger, in Tipton when he was involved in a crash with a car at the junction of Lower Church Lane and Horseley Heath.

The passenger survived.

Senior coroner Zafar Siddique adjourned the inquest until May 23 while a police investigation into the incident continues.
