Four-car crash blocks Birmingham Road forcing bus diversion

Four cars crashed partially blocking a busy road in Oldbury forcing buses to be diverted.

Emergency services were called to the smash which happened in Birmingham Road at around 2pm on Wednesday.

Four people had been able to get out of their cars by the time paramedics arrived at the scene.

They were treated for minor injuries but they did not need to be taken to hospital.

Crews from Oldbury and West Bromwich fire station attended to ensure the vehicles were safe.

Bus operator National Express warned services would be diverted in the aftermath.

Officials tweeted: "Due to road closure on Birmingham Road Oldbury services to Birmingham [are] diverted via Stone Street, Tat Bank Road, Rood End Road [and] Oldbury road."
