Biker taken to hospital after Newton Road crash in Great Barr

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a crash near a school in Great Barr.

Emergency services were called to Newton Road at around 8.30am on Friday to reports of a crash between a car and motorbike.

The motorcyclist suffered a shoulder injury in the crash and was taken to hospital.

The scene was near Grove Vale Primary School in nearby Monksfield Avenue

Claire Brown, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "One man, the motorcyclist, suffered a shoulder injury and was given treatment on scene before being taken to Sandwell Hospital.

"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended."
