The child's fingers got lodged in the dispenser of the candy machine at Hot Shots Snooker Club, in Crosswells Road, Oldbury on New Year's Eve at 11.20pm.

Firefighters attended and cut open the plastic machine to free the boy's fingers at 11.40pm.

A picture was then taken of the boy along with sweets from the machine.

Neil Beckley, owner of Hot Shots Snooker Club, said: "We got a message to say a young lad had got his hand stuck in the machine.

"We called the the fire brigade and they managed to free his fingers.

"The boy looked relieved but also happy he had his sweets."

The venue was holding a special Elvis Presley and Blues-themed night.
