Grade II listed Wordsley Manor has been owned by the same family for more than 150 years but is now up for grabs at the seemingly budget price.

It has a vast array of bedrooms, receptions rooms and period features as well as a 49-seat cinema.

It is rather unusually located at the heart of a housing estate near Wordsley High Street, just two miles from Stourbridge and three miles from Brierley Hill.

One of the home's many living spaces.

The Lee Shaw Partnership, which is marketing the stunning property, said it was "liveable" but that its east and west wings have fallen into disrepair.

Helen Prytherch, from the firm's Stourbridge office, said: "We have the guide price at £350,000 because of the amount of work which needs doing. It is liveable but it does need quite a lot of work

"We have had an awful lot of interest - I've got viewings coming out of my ears."

Wordsley Manor was built in 1727 and its first owners were Black Country industrialists, the Holt family.

A dining room.

In 1924 the Firmstone family took residence and retired architect Christopher Firmstone inherited it in 1991.

The east wing used to house the servants’ quarters, while the west wing contained the coach house, stables, tack room and forge, with a saddlery above.

It was once surrounded by extensive grounds but these have been considerably reduced down to 1.5 acres by housing development.

In 2014 plans were approved to build 14 homes on part of the grounds to raise £400,000 for renovations to the former servants’ quarters.

An incredible hallway inside the property.

Its first floor features bedrooms, a dressing room and principle bathroom.

The second floor has a studio and office and the cinema together with projection room and switch room.

A brochure for the property, states: "This residence has an unrivalled wealth of character and features that one would expect from its rich history.

"From ceiling cornices, doors and architraves, windows and glazing and fireplaces.

"It also offers enormous scope to further improve and preserve this important landmark property.

The rear of Wordsley Manor

"The formal dining room is the most impressive room of the Manor, having a rear bay window and beautiful fittings."

The closing date for offers is June 27 and the property is available to cash purchasers only.
