Woman critically ill after being hit by car in Netherton

A woman has been left fighting for her life after being hit by a car in Netherton.

Police launched an appeal after the collision between a pedestrian and a car.

The crash happened on Baptist End Road, in Netherton, at around 3pm on Tuesday.

The pedestrian, a 43-year-woman, was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of a silver Peugeot 307 stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their inquiries.

The crash happened close to the junction with Park Road.

Sgt Alan Wood, from West Midlands Police, said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision or has any information that would assist, or holds dash cam footage of the incident to contact us."

Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting log number 1431 of 19/03.
