Woman seriously injured after crashing into roundabout sculpture

A woman suffered serious injuries after her car left the road and crashed into a roundabout sculpture.

The incident happened shortly before 3am today with the Mini coming to rest against the 'fire tower' structure on Cinder Bank island in Netherton.

Fire Crews from Brierley Hill and Dudley attended.

They had to cut the roof off the car to release the female casualty.

She was then taken to hospital, with her injuries described as 'serious' by West Midlands Police.
