Schoolgirl taken to hospital after being hit by car in Kingswinford

A teenage girl has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Kingswinford this morning.

The 14-year-old student on her way to school was involved in the collision in Cot Lane, near its junction with Mount Pleasant.

Officers were called to the scene at around 8.20am today after the girl was hit.

She was treated by paramedics but her injuries are not believed to be serious.

The road was closed for around three hours, with West Midlands Police at the scene until around 11.45am.

The driver of the car has been spoken to by officers.
