Driver flees as car crumpled in Christmas Day smash

A driver fled the scene after a car was left crumpled in a Christmas Day crash in Halesowen.

The crash happened at around 11pm at a roundabout at the bottom of the A458 Mucklow Hill.

Fire crews from Haden Cross and Oldbury were sent to make the scene safe and when they arrived the driver was nowhere to be scene.

Police officers and paramedics were also at the scene near Kwik Fit and Aldi but nobody is understood to have been injured.

Photos taken of the crash showed an orange Vauxhall left straddling the road with major damage to its front end, a missing driver's side tyre and smashed windscreen.

Haden Cross Fire Station posted on social media warning people against drink driving during the festive season.

The post on Facebook said: "Please think twice about driving if you have consumed alcohol!

"This is the scene we have just attended in Halesowen."

The fire service stop message came in at 11.18pm.
