Man killed by falling slabs at Dudley industrial estate

A man has died after he was struck by falling slabs at a Dudley industrial estate..

The incident happened at an industrial unit on Lyde Green, in Cradley, at about 3.20pm Monday.

West Midlands Police said it is investigating the incident while the Health and Safety Executive has also been informed.

A forensic tent was set-up at the scene as part of a police presence at the site.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to reports of slabs having fallen on to a man at an industrial unit in Lyde Green, Cradley, at about 3.20pm.

"A man in his 40s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed."
