The motorcyclist, a man aged 22, is in a critical but stable condition after being involved in a collision with a Renault Megane car on Friday, police said.

The crash happened on Wallows Road at its junction with Planet Road, behind the Oak Retail Park on Dudley Road, at around 7.20pm.

Paramedics, police and firefighters were called to the scene and the male biker was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

A woman and young girl from the car were cared for by ambulance staff but did not need to go to hospital, said West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Two fire engines from Brierley Hill were sent to help the ambulance service and make the scene safe.
