Body found confirmed as missing Dudley woman Julia Rawson

A body found in Tipton has been confirmed as missing Dudley woman Julia Rawson, police have said.

Ms Rawson was last seen on May 12 and her disappearance led to a major murder investigation.

A body was found by specialist officers on June 12 in a secluded area near an industrial estate in Tipton.

Today, West Midlands Police said that a post-mortem examination carried out confirmed it was the body of missing Ms Rawson.

They added that a cause of death has not been determined.

A spokesman for the force said: "A post-mortem examination on a body found last week in Tipton has revealed the identification as missing Dudley woman Julia Rawson.

"A cause of death has not yet been determined. Enquiries continue."

Officers have been searching for former Dudley market trader Ms Rawson for more than four weeks.

Two men have been charged with her murder.
