Cheers! For sale, house with its own pub

Dean Perks doesn't have to go far when he fancies a pint down his local – he has a pub in his own sitting room.

And the bar is now looking for a new landlord after Mr Perks put his Black Country home on the market.

Mr Perks, a 47-year-old kitchen and bathroom fitter, said the bar was already in place when he bought the three-bedroom detached property in Dudley 11 years ago.

"It came out of a pub somewhere, I don't know which pub, I never asked the seller," he said.

"When we bought the house there were two things that clinched it, they were the views and the bar.

"When we bought it there was a pool table as well, and we've still got a dartboard.

"It's perfect for a Saturday afternoon, you can put the football on the telly and have a few friends round for a beer.

"For somebody who loves entertaining a few friends, it's brilliant."

Ironically the father-of-four said he and his wife Joanne did not actually drink much.

"We don't really have the time, we're very busy, and usually when we get back home it's straight to bed."

The house in Vale Street, Upper Gornal, is now on sale for £275,000 through Peter James estate agents.
