Bus evacuated after fears of explosives on board
Passengers travelling on a bus through Dudley were forced to get off after concerns there could be an explosive on board.
Police received a 999 call on Saturday morning from a staff member at Dudley Bus Station in Fisher Street.
A driver had raised concerns about a man who boarded a bus that morning in Lye Cross.
The bus was evacuated and checked by a police explosive sniffer dog but nothing suspicious was detected.
It was understood the man in question had got off the bus before police were contacted.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “A search of the area he’s believed to have disembarked was carried out but no-one matching the description was found.
"No other reports of suspicious behaviour have been received.”
