Thousands are expected to attend the third annual Birmingham Coffee Festival

The third annual Birmingham Coffee Festival at the newly revamped Custard Factory in Digbeth will feature more than 50 exhibitors, including demonstrations by world class baristas, live music and tasting competitions.

It is the brainchild of Dudley Internet entrepreneur Joshua Burchell and partner Tom McCormack, who runs Cole & Mac Coffee Roasters.

The pair hope to build on last year's event, which saw 3,000 people through the doors.

Mr Burchell said: “The festival is all about showcasing the humble bean and to provide a platform for traders to show off their diverse range of coffees, cakes, breads, front of house, coffee machines and alternative beverages.

“Spiced turmeric latte, espresso martinis, exotic chocolate drinks and teas along with special treats for vegans will also feature alongside speciality coffee brews from all over the world.”

The festival will also include gourmet street food, coffee cocktails, and free coffee samples. It runs until June 9.
