Two southbound lanes were closed between junctions 9 and 10 after the crash, which happened at around 4.10pm.

Fuel has leaked onto the road from one of the lorries, which highways officers are clearing.

A spokeswoman for Highways England said it was not known when the two lanes would reopen.

An ambulance was called to assess two patients and was still at the scene at 5pm.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to reports of a two-lorry collision.

"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended and they are assessing two patients."
