Around 100 firefighters were called to the building off Hay Hall Road, in Tyseley, at around 5.10am on Monday.

Flames leaped through the skyline and could be seen seven miles away along with plumes of black smoke.

The first fire crew was at the scene within two minutes of leaving the station. And around 15 fire engines and 100 firefighters were at the scene tackling the blaze alongside three hydraulic platforms and the high volume water pumping unit.

The factory has been left completely gutted with the shells of burnt out trucks inside.

West Midlands Fire Service confirmed that the cause was accidental.

The service tweeted yesterday saying: "From high up on Walsall fire's hydraulic platform, the extent of the damage to the furniture warehouse we attended yesterday in Tyseley can be seen clearly.

"Crews have been there overnight and are still in attendance. The cause was confirmed as accidental."

The building is less than half a mile from Tyseley Railway Station and caused delays and cancellations for services in the area.
