Pedestrian suffers serious injuries in Birmingham crash

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Birmingham.

The junction for Bacchus Road and Nineveh Road, Winson Green.

A car had collided with a number of cars and a pedestrian at the junction of Bacchus Road and Nineveh Road, in Winson Green, an ambulance spokesman said.

The crash took place at around 6pm on Wednesday.

The female pedestrian was rushed to hospital after sustaining serious injuries in the collision. The car driver was also taken to hospital.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Crews arrived to find a car which had collided with several vehicles and a pedestrian.

"The pedestrian, a woman, sustained serious injuries which required trauma care from the doctor and ambulance crews. The woman was stabilised on scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further care.

“The car driver, a man, was assessed by ambulance staff and treated for his injuries on scene before being conveyed to the same hospital.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and a BASICS emergency doctor to the scene.
